You can apply for subdomain or domain hosting. A subdomain looks like username.domain.com where you can choose the username and domain.com will usually be orangesarecool.com but other domains are available by request. Your hosting comes with CPanel (where you can set up FTP accounts and databases for example) and Fantastico where you can install scripts such as forums, and the popular Coppermine gallery script typically used by fansites. Other features: we support PHPMotion and have the codec support for other media software. Sites wanting to use this must get permission. ===== RULES ===== 1. EXPERIENCE. You must have at least intermediate website skills and we expect you to have enough website experience to manage your website, fix problems yourself, install scripts, etc. Although we may be able to help, do not rely on us. 2. QUALITY. Your site must be high quality. You'll be asked to redesign your site if necessary. You must have original content, we will not host sites getting their content from other sites. Fix all broken links on your site. 3. ESTABLISHED SITES. You must maintain a high position on google, first or second page. We are taking mostly established sites, this mean no new sites please. You must have at least a keywords and description meta tag at all times, and have a pagerank. 4. HOST SUPPORT. You must display our ad code or link according to your arrangement at all times on all pages of the site. This must be done the moment you make your site public on our servers. 5. MISC. English sites only - we get mostly US traffic; not only that but we do not understand other languages. If you must put your site on hiatus, leave the site browsable. Please leave galleries/forums viewable without registration. Your site must work for all browsers and all resolutions, do not create sites best viewed by a certain browser setting. Do not create layouts that take up a very small portion of the browser. Please avoid coding your site in frames unless absolutely necessary. ifiKeep your CPanel email an email address at which you check frequently and can respond to within 48 hours. If you are accepted, please fully set up your site within 4 days - coming soon pages and temporary layouts are not acceptable. If through another site please specify the exact site(s), do not just write "another site". ============ AD/LINK CODE ============ Hostees, if you need the ad code, please copy and paste the appropriate ad from one of the sites below. To keep things simple, a regular banner (468x60) is the default, if your site is high traffic 728x90 is required. A: The site started out hosting one or two sites, and we had extra space on our server to host other sites so we created this site. Originally we hosted sites ad-free, those spots filled up quickly and we had too many hostees on it so we opened another server. Q: What's your name? A: Please address your emails to "Oranges". Please keep all your questions hosting related. Q: Can you help me back up my site? A: We can help you create backups but it's your responsibility to keep a copy of all your files at all times. You can do this in CPanel -> Backups, or by downloading your files via FTP. Q: Can I run my own ads? A: With permission only from now on. If you want to do this you need to compensate us for your hosting costs first. We have some hostees paying and some co-running their ads along with ours. Q: Can you help me install a script?
